About this session
Giving a team access to AI tools is not the same as changing how that team works. Sophie Kay examines what must change in the allocation of work, the expertise people bring, the way decisions are made and the measures of success. The discussion distinguishes promising experimentation from a sustainable AI-enabled operating model and gives leaders questions to test before calling a team 'AI-native'.
Learning outcomes
- Distinguish tool adoption from a change in how a team operates.
- Identify a role, hand-off or decision that needs redesign.
- Use practical questions to assess the sustainability of an AI-enabled team.
This session will explore
- Examine how work is allocated between people and AI-enabled tools.
- Consider the expertise and decision rights an AI-enabled team needs.
- Test whether measures of success capture sustained performance beyond tool use.
Context
Access to AI tools does not establish a new operating model. Leaders need to understand how work, roles and decision rights change before they can judge whether experimentation has become sustainable practice.
