About this session

AI inherits the processes that generate its underlying data. Danielle Bushen examines the ownership, exceptions and definitions that HR teams need to address before an AI programme can support reliable decisions, including where workflows must change and which investments are defensible.

Learning outcomes

  • Identify a process issue that may undermine an AI programme.
  • Clarify responsibility for an exception or data definition.
  • Connect a readiness investment to a decision it needs to support.

This session will explore

  • Examine process ownership and the definitions behind people data.
  • Identify exceptions and workflow changes that affect reliability.
  • Consider which process and data investments are defensible before expanding AI use.

Context

AI inherits weaknesses in the processes that generate its data. Readiness therefore depends on how work is owned and performed, as well as on the quality of the technology introduced.
