About this session
Emily's Strategic Workforce Planning team has used task analysis for around four years across 17 key roles, many of them clinical. The work breaks roles into the tasks that create pressure, tests what can be redistributed or redesigned, and identifies where technology may provide a realistic capacity option. That foundation is now influencing a newer portfolio of AI and automation ideas. The session will show a disciplined sequence: start with the capacity problem, decompose and validate the work, redesign the role, then decide what should remain human, be augmented or be automated.
Learning outcomes
- See how task-level evidence changes workforce-planning choices.
- Learn a sequence for moving from capacity pressure to work redesign.
- Apply a practical test for deciding what should remain human, be augmented or be automated.
This session will explore
- Why conventional hiring and headcount planning were not enough.
- The task-analysis approach used across 17 key roles.
- How task findings become role redesign or technology opportunities.
- How the same method can guide human, augmented and automated work choices.
Context
